Our project under Education As A Right for 2010

Mwanbilki Nursery School in Kajire Village, Kenya

Mwanbilki nursery school nursery school was set up a couple of years ago by the parents and communities of Kajire, Mwanbikili as children of this area were walking over a hour daily by foot to access Kajire main primary and nursery school.

Kajire is a lovely rural village on the slope of Mount Taveta on the border of the famous Tsavo national park. It has approximately 3000 inhabitants dispersed on a vast area surrounding the park.

The Mwanbilki nursery school had 36 children this year and expecting a dozen more in 2010. They gather every week day in the mud-house church or outside under the shade of a tree. The nursery school is run by its headmaster and an assistant teacher who is currently volunteering.

Communities of this part of the village started laying bricks but need more funding to go on. We are working on this project through Sukumakenya and with your support, we will build this school!

A special fund has been set up and you can donate to this fund by using the donation buttons on this page. There is no fixed amount so go ahead and help out with whatever you can afford.All donated funds will sent in two payments to the project organisers at Sukumakenya . First payment will be July 05 2010 to help them with the building process. Second payment will be in early December 2010.
